Hairstyle for 2008

PIC015

Wow!!, don’t you think that I simply look smart in my new hair style?  I am resembling to my dad and this is his favorite hair style. Do you know who is my hairdresser? He is none other than my dad. He started cutting my hair when I am just 28 days old and even now he continues the work. I have gone to the beauty parlor just once that was when I was in India (11/01/2007).

My School

I am studying in Mafannu Madhrassa (MM).  Last year, 2007, I joined in the Nursery. My assigned class was Nursery-I and about 26 kids were in the same class. Except Rahul Sanker and myself, others were Maldivians. My school life started in this school only.

Every school in Maldives is having three terms. School year starts in every January and ends up in November. Last year, I couldn’t go to school to collect my report book on the day of first term report giving but my mom went and collected it on behalf of me. Students give gifts to the teachers and they give to the students in return also. Usually paper crowns, pencils, crayons, coloring book, pencil case, chocolates of different types, etc,.

Two events took place in the school last year like Sports meet and Concert. I participated in both. My item for the sports meet day was Sack race. I am sure I got inside the sack but I was the one who reached the finishing point the last. My parents came to cheer me up but I couldn’t help myself because I was so sleepy.

This snap is taken on the second term report giving.

For the Concert, I have participated in one of the dances arranged by the school. It was for 3 days. On the first day, mom came to see the dance but I didn’t move a step since I was so shy because of her presence. Seond day my  elsy aunty came to school, and she told me I danced well. Third day, Rahul’s mom and dad came, they also told me I performed well on the stage.

These two are my aunties in my Nursery. The one who is wearing the blue wheel is Shauna aunty.

I am just loving my school and I am now promoted to LKG.

naan cut

naan cut

This is a snack my mom used to prepare for my dad and me. Mom used to say that it was her favorite when she was very young. Now it is mine also. The very thought of it makes me mouth watering. Do you want to see how it is prepared? Try yourself out and you will fall for it. I am just loving it.

Ingredients required:

  • Maida/ all purpose flour – 2 cups
  • powdered sugar – 3 tbsp
  • ghee/butter – 150 gms
  • baking powder – 1 tsp
  • soda powder – 1/2 tsp
  • cashew nuts – 50 gms
  • cardamom – 6 nos ( skinned and powdered)

How it is prepared:

  • Pre heart oven at 150 degree Celsius for 10 mins
  • Powder half of the cashew nuts and coarsely the remaining
  • Sift maida/all purpose flour.
  • Add baking powder and soda powder along with the sifted flour and sift again twice
  • Mix ghee/butter and powdered sugar in a bowl
  • Add sifted flour, ground cashews and cardamom to the ghee mixture and make a dough (like rotti dough) and keep aside for 15 mins
  • Make amla (goose berry/ nellikka) size balls and arrange by leaving space  in a tray  and bake it for 25-30 mins
  • Prick it after 25 mins and if the tooth pick comes out clean, it is done
  • Shift it to a another plate only after it is cooled in room temperature.

You can make 25 – 35 naan cuts

Tips:

  • Use only powdered sugar other wise naan cut will be very hard
  • If the ghee is more, naan cut won’t get a proper shape
  • Don’t open the oven until 2/3rd of the total baking time is over
